| Attachment of alkali ions like Li+ and Na+ on graphene surface to realize it as an ionic conductor is a real challenge due to the weak interaction between the ions and the functional groups of graphene oxide. To overcome this problem, graphene oxide (GO) is functionalized by 1-aza-15-crown-5 ether, that has a cage-like structure containing four oxygens which able to bind the alkali ions through electrostatic interaction. Using ac relaxation mechanism, the activation energies of Li+ and Na+ ion migrations arising due to cation-π interaction on the reduced graphene oxide (rGO) surface is found to be 0.37eV and 0.28eV respectively. Relaxation study indicates a perfect Debye-type relaxation in 2D Lithia containing ionic conductors. |
